Warm greetings to ISANA NZ members and associates. We're touching base with an update to our eLearning policy.
If you enrolled in any one of our three eLearning courses (Supporting international homestay hosts, Tailored support for diverse tertiary residents, and/or the six Supporting cross-border students micro-modules developed with MOE-TILWP assistance) before the 1st February 2025 you have until the 22nd April 2025 to complete any and all micro-modules you're enrolled in and receive your micro credential(s). You will no longer have access to these courses beyond 22nd April 2025.
Any users enrolled in any of our eLearning courses after the first of February 2025 will be allocated a 12 week period in which to complete the micro-modules. After which, you will no longer have access to the course(s). A 12 week access period will be standard practice across all our eLearning courses moving forward.
To all users, ensure you download your micro credential before the enrolment end date to keep record of your course completion. View instructions on downloading your micro credential here. Should you wish to extend your course access or revisit a module after your course access has expired, you will need to be re enrolled in the desired course which will instate a new 12 week access period.
This eLearning course is designed for Australian and New Zealand tertiary accommodation providers and is ideal for managers, support staff and RAs. Each micro-module takes 10-15 minutes to complete.
In the three micro-modules you will:
Upon completion of the third micro-module, you will receive a digital badge that shows evidence of specialised training to support diverse residents.
(i) In 2024 the NZQA Code Office focused on homestay host provisions in its review procedures, and tertiary accommodation is likely to be a near-term focus. Education providers are required to provide tailored support for diverse residents that caters to their cultural and language backgrounds. This eLearning micro module provides evidence-based tools and case-based learning for accommodation staff to enhance their intercultural skills and thereby meet Code obligations.
